Once the 2 of you have utterly separated, then what you need to do is to perform a completing ritual. This is a symbological event that will involve letting an effigy of your ex go, through destroying it or another task. You might burn one of their letters, their photograph, throw away their left-overs, and remove their files off your personal computer and the like. This pointless gesture is for your benefit.
