How To Organize A Great Bachelorette NIght
Bachelorette parties for the ladies have become almost as popular as bachelor parties for the guys in recent years. Just as the groom gets his last chance to go out and have a crazy adventure before settling down into married life, so does the bride now. Learn what it takes to pull together a terrific bachelorette event.
A bachelorette bash is a time for an engaged woman to paint the town red with her girlfriends. A lot of bachelorettes are bar hopping parties. The group either hits a series of bars which are within walking distance or hires a limo for the night to take them to watering holes all over town. Don’t forget about picking a designated driver to get everyone home safely. Moms are not usually part of the bachelorette party – it’s more a time for the bride’s immediate circle of friends!
Everyone pays for herself at the party. They should also all chip in to cover the bride’s bar tab, if she has one. The bride often wears something to signify her special status for the night, like a t-shirt emblazoned with the word bride in crystals or a little veil. Plenty of people will want to buy the bride rounds or the bartender may offer her a drink on the house if they know it is a bachelorette party. A pretty pair of crystal heart earrings would look great with the bridal t-shirt. If you choose clear crystal heart earrings, you can even wear them again for your wedding.
It’s a good idea for the party planner to find out what the bride-to-be wants before making any wild plans for the bachelorette night. Sometimes the party planner wants to make it her mission to plan a bachelorette that is wilder than the groom’s party. The truth is that a wild party can be embarrassing for a lot of women. Don’t plan a night of debauchery if that is not her style. And brides, remember not to do anything that you would not want your fiance to do during his bachelor party! Everyone has a camera on their phone these days, and you don’t want to end up with a picture of you in a compromising position on someone’s Facebook page!
A wine tasting party is a more refined alternative to a night of bar hopping. It is a good choice for the bride who prefers more refined entertainment. You can either go to a local vineyard or plan a weekend vacation in an area with several wineries. A chic wine bar would be another great place for a ladies’ night out. If none are available in your area, you can host a wine tasting party at your home and hire a sommelier. Pair the wine with complementary cheeses to give the guests something to nibble on while they drink. This type of bachelorette party could even be combined with an elegant evening bridal shower.
Timing is important, and the bachelorette shouldn’t be held too close to the wedding date. The bride-to-be is usually too overwhelmed with last minute stuff to really relax in the last days before her wedding. Besides, it may take a few days for everyone to recover from the bachelorette party and be in tip top shape for the wedding!
